What Is IV Saline Therapy – Let’s Talk Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

If you’ve ever felt completely drained—physically, mentally, or emotionally—you know that a glass of water doesn’t always leave you feeling hydrated and it can feel hard to catch up. That’s where IV saline therapy comes in: a fast, effective way to deeply rehydrate and restore balance from the inside out. Whether you’ve seen it at a wellness clinic, a hydration lounge, or on social media, IV therapy is growing in popularity. But what exactly is IV saline therapy, and how does it work?

What Is IV Saline Therapy?

IV saline therapy is the intravenous (IV) administration of a sterile saltwater solution—usually 0.9% sodium chloride—directly into your bloodstream administered by a trained professional whether that be a RN, nurse practioner, or paramedic. This type of solution is called normal saline and is designed to closely mimic the body’s natural fluid and electrolyte balance.

Unlike drinking water, which gets absorbed slowly through your digestive system, IV saline delivers hydration immediately and completely into your bloodstream, making it much faster and more efficient.

Where do we offer our IV saline drip services?

  1. From the comfort of your own home
  2. From the office or place of work
  3. At conferences or a hotel room
  4. At a party ie: bachelor/bachelorette
  5. Sporting events
  6. Concerts/festivals

How Does It Work at PhysiGO?

Here’s how the process works step by step when booking with PhysiGO:

Booking your appointment:

You can book an appointment online or if booking for a large group you can give our receptionist a call.

You will receive an online intake form that is to be completed in full prior to your session.

The day of your session:

A trained professional ie nurse or paramedic, will come to you at the time of appointment and provide a quick consult and take vitals.

The IV is set up and a small, sterile catheter is inserted into a vein—typically in your arm or hand. It’s connected to a bag of saline solution that hangs above you, allowing gravity to slowly drip the fluid into your vein.

Absorption begins immediately. As the saline enters your bloodstream, your body starts using it right away to:

  • Rehydrate your cells
  • Restore blood volume
  • Balance electrolytes
  • Improve circulation
  • Support natural detoxification

The drip lasts for approximately 1 hour where you can sit back and relax! After the treatment the nurse or paramedic will remove the IV, take post vitals and that’s it!

People choose saline-only IV therapy for a variety of reasons—both medical and wellness-related. Some of the most common benefits include:

Is It Safe?
